Hospital in Jersey, Monday Morning

Hanna had been at the hospital all night. There was no way she was going to leave until she knew for sure Caleb would be okay. He hadn't woken up, yet. Hanna was the opposite. She barely slept. There might have been a few hours when she fell asleep on the most uncomfortable hospital chair ever, but that didn't count to her.
She was appreciative that the other girls had stayed with her, though Spencer and Aria had just gone home a few minutes ago. Emily was still asleep in the waiting room.
Hanna didn't want to leave Caleb's side, but she needed to make a cafeteria run. It wasn't because she was hungry. She was too nervous for food right now. Caffeine was a different story. She needed it to stay awake.
She planned to take the coffee and leave until she spotted Paige sitting at a table with a bowl of Cheerios. Hanna was going to try to walk by unnoticed, but it didn't work out that way.
"Hey Hanna," Paige greeted, waving somewhat nervously. Was she afraid of Hanna? That only made her feel worse about everything.
"Hey," Hanna awkwardly replied, stopping in front of Paige's table. "Mind if I sit?"
She might as well talk to Paige about what happened.
"Go for it," Paige said, nodding. "It's so creepy in here right now. Company would be nice."
Hanna was sheepish. "Even if it's with me?"
"Yeah, why not?"
Hanna could tell Paige was still nervous about it, though. Her tone seemed to confirm that.
"Because I was a bitch to you," Hanna said shamefully. "We all were. I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry. I get it you don't accept it, but I really do mean it."
Paige finally smiled. "It's okay. I mean, it did suck, but...you love Emily. I kinda get what that's like. You thought you were protecting her."
Hanna nodded. "Seems like she can take care of herself, though, more than any of us thought."
"She was pretty badass," Paige smirked. "If it makes you feel better, I kinda suspected all of you for a moment."
"Really?" Hanna raised an eyebrow. "We would never do anything to hurt her. Not on purpose. I wouldn't."
"I was just thinking about how she was drugged at a party just the four of you attended," Paige said. This time it was her turn to feel sheepish. "But I get how stupid that sounds. Now that I know about 'A' and what she's capable of..."
"I'm sorry she dragged you into this, too," Hanna said sincerely.
Talking with Paige was already making her feel better. "I'm gonna go get a bagel, but I'll be right back if you still want company."
Paige nodded. "Sounds good."
As she headed over toward the bagels, she smiled for the first time in awhile.
