Hanna had gone home right after classes today. She spent some time with her grandmother, listening to some of her crazy stories. Regina Marin was always entertaining that way. Since her mother was going to be out of town this weekend, someone had to be here to keep her grandmother company.

She expected to get caught up in more 'A' business while home...and she wasn't wrong.

As the hours dwindled, Hanna decided it was time for bed. She had Lou with her since her adorable powers of persuasion had won out. She was half asleep when she heard footsteps. She gasped, jumping up to face...Mona? Lou began to hiss.

"Is this a bad time?" Mona asked quietly, ignoring the cat

"What are you doing here?" Hanna whisper shouted, immediately reaching for Lou protectively.

How the hell did she get in here? Oh right. She was 'A.'

"My doctors released me."

"Obviously," Hanna sighed.

"Look, Hanna, I need your help," Mona begged. "My parents forced me to go back to school, and I'm so scared. Everyone knows what I've done, and I have no one in my corner."

She was really selling it with the tears.

Hanna wasn't buying it. "If you're expecting me and my friends to forgive you..."

"I don't expect them to," Mona interrupted. "Hanna, you're different."

She reached for Hanna's hand. "Wren said you were like a guardian angel, that you stood up for me."

Hanna yanked her hand away. "You are not defenseless, Mona. You spent the last few years majoring in torture."

"So you don't believe that a person could get better?" Mona asked sadly. "I had a breakdown. But I've turned a corner. I'm on new meds. Everything's changed."

Hanna couldn't believe, for a moment, she was actually believing Mona's words and feeling sorry for her.

"I'm not proud of who I was. Just try to see me for who I am," Mona pleaded.

Hanna snapped out of her momentary lapse. "I do see you, Mona, and you're freaking me out."

Frankly, Hanna thought she was being fairly calm considering her former stalker was...sneaking up on her in the middle of the night. What?

That's when the tension was interrupted. "Hanna?"

"Yeah, grandma?" Hanna called back, watching as Mona seemingly began to panic.

"Are you alone in there? I heard voices," Regina asked.

Upon seeing the fear on Mona's face, she added, "Um, it's just me. I'm reading...out loud."

"Thank you," Mona whispered sincerely. At least she seemed sincere?

When Mona left, Hanna hugged Lou to herself. Wow, did she have a lot to think about right now. Sleep? What was that?
