Hanna really wanted to be back in Fandom right now. This day had been a disaster, and she felt very responsible for it. Now, she was sitting in her room with the other girls, cursing 'A.' They'd all done what they were assigned to do, and now they were feeling miserable.

The day started out innocently enough. Hanna's father had even stopped by before the wedding, apologizing for ignoring her since last week, and putting pressure on her to give a toast at the rehearsal dinner. Hanna felt guilty knowing what she had to do, especially when he said marrying Isabel would make him happy. Though she wished her parents could just work things out, she knew that wasn't a possibility anymore. Letting her dad be happy wouldn't have been so bad.

Once it was time for the wedding, though, she knew what she had to do. She was so glad the other girls had been there at the church for support. All except Emily. The fact that she seemed to be missing gave Hanna the last minute courage she needed to ruin her dad's important day. They needed to get out of there to find her, so Hanna made it happen.

She felt sick and horrible when she told Isabel a very harsh truth. Her dad and her mom had a tryst a few weeks before. Isabel, naturally, did not take it well. The wedding was off. Indefinitely. The look on her dad's face said it all. He was obviously disappointed in her. Even though what she said was the truth, it still should not have been her place to announce it. If he didn't hate her before, she was sure he did now. More than anything, though, Hanna felt worse for her mother. This was news that was sure to get out now.

At least they found Emily. 'A' made sure of it after giving them an address. Apparently, he or she just wanted to scare Emily by having her show up alone at a creepy barn on the outskirts of town. Hanna could tell she was spooked when they finally got to her. She claimed she saw Alison. Alive. They all knew the sad truth, though.

The wedding was sabotaged, but one of her best friends was safe. It had been a day.

"This was a crappy weekend," Aria announced.

"Understatement," Spencer added.

"Sorry about Toby, Spence," Hanna said quietly, referring to her friend's assignment to basically break up with her boyfriend.

"Ezra and I aren't gonna work out, if it makes you feel better," Aria added, referring to her assignment to ruin her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.

"What about you and Caleb?" Spencer asked Hanna.

"Not much to tell," Hanna replied. "I don't really want to do the long distance thing."

"At least one of us is happy in the relationship column," Spencer grinned, glancing at Emily. "You and Maya seem to be cozy again."

"Right," Emily sighed. "Except she just wants to be friends for now."

"Great, so we all suck at relationships," Hanna said, though it was more to lighten the mood than anything.

Somehow, it got the girls to smile. "We have each other, at least. 'A' can't do anything about that."

Which is exactly when 'A' decided to grace them with his or her presence. All of their cellphones chirped at the same time, indicating a message from their nemesis.

Congratulations girls. You all get an A. The good doctor is safe. For now.

Hanna shook her head. "You know, Dr. Sullivan could have been lounging it up on a beach somewhere with a tropical drink. Little umbrella and all."

"Wouldn't surprise me," Spencer added. "But we had no way of knowing for sure."

"I just want to go back to school," Hanna said. "I love you guys, but...I think it's better for me to go away."

"Don't say that," Emily admonished.

"No, I'm serious. Maybe 'A' will let up on us if one of us is away," Hanna suggested. "Besides, I just want to be away from here."

"I don't blame you," Aria told her.

"Want me to drive you back? We can leave now if you want," Spencer suggested.

"We can all go. Spend a few more hours together," Emily said.

"We can stop at a diner on the way," Aria added.

Hanna smiled. "Really, guys? That means a lot."

"We got your back," Spencer assured.

So a car trip to Maryland with her friends was really the only way this day could end. It was the best possible ending of an otherwise horrible day.

[ooc: NFB, NFI; that's all the canon catch up until January; had to leave out important plot stuff due to cliffhanger of doom for now; my canon, it is cracktastic.]
