Hanna had been quieter and more reflective lately since Alison showed up and then left again. She had a lot to think about. It was why she hadn't called Emily back for a few days to find out if she gathered more information. Plus, she wanted to tell her about Ali. Knowing that wasn't an option, she thought it was best to stay away for a few days.
After some time to think about things, she decided it was okay to call today. She almost wished she hadn't.
Emily figured out the mysterious handwriting in Alison's notebook belonged to CeCe, the boutique owner who Alison hung out with in Cape May. CeCe didn't know who the 'beach hottie' was that Alison was talking about, but she knew Alison was afraid of the guy because she had a pretty huge secret. She claimed to think she might have been pregnant at the time and was afraid the father.
Holy bombshell!
Hanna didn't know why this shocked her, but it did. Maybe she was a little annoyed, too, because Alison never told her any of this during her visitation. She also felt sympathy. How scared and alone she must have felt.
"There's more," Emily said a bit nervously on the other end. "Please don't freak out."
Hanna raised an eyebrow. "Everytime any of you tell me not to freak out, there's an actual reason to freak out. So just tell me."
"I...I turned the notebook in to the police," Emily said quickly.
Hanna considered what this could mean. "Em, it's the Rosewood Police. Are you sure it's safe to trust them?"
"I don't know, but I was tired of finding evidence and doing nothing with it," Emily sighed. "This was evidence 'A' didn't know about. So they don't know I did anything with it."
Hanna nodded, not caring that Emily couldn't even see her. "I get it. Maybe it was a good idea."
But, since Wilden was involved now, she was rightfully afraid this would come back to bite them all. She'd been on the wrong end of his wrath before.
"Just...be careful, Em," Hanna advised, repeating Alison's words.
"You, too," Emily replied. "I'll keep you posted."
"Thanks," Hanna said before hanging up.
Why did she have a bad feeling about this?
