Rosewood, Pennsylvania - Friday Evening

After the Pride meeting, Hanna caught the train home, this time because her mom asked her to.

She had somehow been roped into helping her mom with a clothing drive for the homeless at the local church. Apparently, she agreed while in her depressed state over the weekend. She nor her mom were really church people, so Hanna was really confused about why they were doing this. They could be charitable in other ways, couldn't they?

She sighed as she began to fold old clothes. The new deacon Ted kept trying to talk to her, but she tuned him out after awhile. She was too busy thinking about where her friends were at the moment.

Emily and Aria were at Jenna's birthday/coming out with her new sight party. That was suspicious because Jenna begged the girls to keep the status of her eyesight secret. Now she was basically telling the world. Emily, who recently got a job as a barista at the new coffee shop, was working since that's where the party was held. Aria went along to try to find out some new information about anything 'A' related. Spencer was scoping out the hospital. Garrett's mother was, unfortunately, in a coma. She'd been ill for some time. Garrett was given visitation access while being surrounded by police the whole time, of course. Spencer was certain he was going to use the opportunity to somehow communicate with 'A.'

As far as Hanna was concerned, she got the better end of the deal. Folding clothes suddenly seemed like the best thing ever. She thought she'd be free of 'A' tonight. As usual, she thought wrong about that. She discovered something surprising among the items she was folding: the jacket Emily wore That Night. Good thing she had a fashion photographic memory.

Immediately, she started to shove it into her bag.

"What are you doing?"

Hanna glanced over at Deacon Ted, reaching for her purse. "I'm gonna pay for it."

He didn't seem to believe her, but she did produce the money. She honestly intended to pay for it. She'd given up her old shop lifting ways after all. Not that she would ever steal from a charity to help the homeless. She wasn't heartless!

Once she paid for it, she called Emily to let her know she found the jacket. Emily asked her to bring it to her at the hospital. Emily's friend Paige passed out at the party and needed medical attention. Hanna sighed. She hated hospitals.

When she arrived, Emily introduced Hanna to Maya's cousin Nate, who seemed really disgusted that Garrett was allowed out of prison. Spencer was off inspecting Garrett's mother's room for evidence he might be communicating with 'A' while all this was going on.

Nate angrily charged at Garrett as the police escorted him on the way out of the hospital. Obviously, the officers prevented him from completing his goal.

Hanna understood why he was angry, but she thought going for the attack like that in the presence of the police wasn't very smart.

"Is he okay?" she asked Emily when he stalked off angrily.

Emily sighed sadly. "He misses her. I know the feeling."

Hanna gently squeezed her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Em."

She nodded appreciatively. "So, where's the jacket? The sooner I have it, the sooner I can burn it."

Hanna handed it over. "So I guess 'A' cares about the homeless. Who woulda thought, huh?"

Emily shook her head. "Didn't think it had a heart."

Hanna stayed with Emily as she waited for Paige. Eventually, she wandered over to them, a bandage on her forehead. She told them that something other than alcohol was in her blood stream. Someone had apparently drugged her drink at the party. At least that's what Paige explained to them.

"Thanks for waiting, Em. My dad's here, though," Paige said. "I'm just gonna go home and try to explain this to him. If he wasn't strict before..."

Emily hugged her before Paige glumly wandered off. Hanna couldn't help wondering if there were still feelings there between those two.

"I feel so horrible," Emily said guiltily.

Hanna blinked. "Why? It's not your fault some piece of scum..."

"It was, though," Emily said frightfully. "In a way. I let Paige borrow my flask...from That Night."

Hanna's eyes grew wide. She wasn't always the smartest person ever, but she understood what Emily was saying. "That would explain why you were so out of it and can't remember everything?"

That was absolutely horrifying to think about. Someone sneaked into Spencer's that night while they were sleeping and slipped something into Emily's flask. Everything about this was truly awful, especially for Emily.

"God," she whispered, placing her hand on Emily's shoulder protectively.

"Why is this happening to me? To us?" Emily said tearfully.

"We'll figure this out," Hanna said, though she wasn't so sure anymore.

This 'A' made Mona look like a cuddly bunny in comparison.
