Rosewood, Pennsylvania - Saturday Evening

Hanna's grandmother was cooking tonight. Her cooking was the best, so Hanna invited the girls over. Neither of them turned the offer down. She hoped it was partly because they wanted to see her.

Once dinner was over, the girls got into a discussion about certain subjects, namely a certain someone returning to school.

"I still can't believe they let her back in," Emily said, shaking her head. "But you should hear some of the things being said about her."

"And the pranks," Aria said, shuddering. "I can't get the cow brain out of my head."

"Whoa whoa whoa! Back up there," Hanna interjected. "Cow brain?"

"Yeah, someone left one in her locker," Aria replied. "I didn't think the biology lab had those."

"That's because you missed that class because of vegetarian reasons," Spencer scoffed.

"That was humanitarian reasons!" Aria protested, ignoring Spencer's eye-rolling.

Hanna wanted to gag. How gross? She almost kinda...

"I kinda feel sorry for her," Emily said quietly. Hanna and Aria were nodding.

Spencer was having none of that. "Okay, are we done? No feeling sorry for her! She's done way worse to us."

Yeah, that prank didn't really compare to being run over by a car, HGH dosed, nearly pushed off a cliff, locked in a box with a dead guy, framed for murder, blackmail, ... Wow, Mona really did a lot of crap to them over the years.

"So, um, how are your classes?" Hanna asked, trying to change the subject.

"Meredith is our history sub," Aria sighed.

Hanna winced. Meredith, the woman who helped break Aria's family apart. Hanna knew a little about that. Her own dad was a big old cheater. As was Spencer's. They all wished they had Emily's awesome dad.

"That sucks, Aria, I'm sorry," Hanna said sincerely.

She shrugged. "I'll deal with it. I just feel really bad that my mom has to work with...her."

Hanna suddenly wished she was still attending Rosewood High just to be there to protect her friends. Lou seemed to be reading their minds, because she suddenly jumped up on the table, ready to give snuggles.

"Hey little one," Emily said, scritching her ears. It wasn't surprising that Lou seemed to like Emily best of Hanna's friends.

"I can't believe you went to the pet store to get a cat," Spencer said, shaking her head. "You of all people. Owning a pet."

Spencer was right to question it. Hanna would never go to a pet store.

"What? She was looking at me with sad puppy eyes," Hanna protested.

"You mean kitty eyes?" Aria smirked.

"You know what I mean!"

That was basically how the night progressed. The girls continued to gossip, plan 'A' strategies, and play with the kitten. As one does.
