Room 425, Saturday Morning

Hanna was sitting by the window in her room, staring off at nothing in particular. She had just woken up days earlier from a coma she suffered after falling down a well, so her expressions were more pensive than usual. This might be even more life altering than that time she faked her own death or when she was on the losing end of a random love triangle. It had been a traumatic year! Life was hard.

At least she felt safe. For now.

Too bad she didn't seem to hear that ominous music in the distance...

Hermione wasn't supposed to be here. She knew she shouldn't. Her psychiatrist had advised against it, but she just couldn't stay away. Surely Hanna had gotten all the anonymous presents she'd left during the coma! All Hermione wanted to do was get to know her.

Because then she'd know how she could be just like her.

While Hanna was looking out her window, an envelope was slipped under the door or through the open door, what have you. Inside it was a photo of Hanna while she'd been walking around, just doing things, with a note on the back that read Your hair looked really perfect that day.

Of course she would appreciate it. Hermione was sure of it! Now she just had to race back to her telescope to see her reaction.

Hanna reached for the envelope, thinking it was another get well card. When she opened it, she let out an over dramatic gasp. Frantically, she looked around her room, paranoia already setting in.

She glanced at all of the random gifts she received during the coma: teddy bears, flowers, balloons, that one card that had not been signed. Could one of those be from her mysterious admirer?

At least the note was correct. Her hair did look perfect that day.

"Hi!" Rapunzel chirped excitedly, waving to her roommate.

Unaware that there was anything going on.

"Did you see who left this?!" Hanna replied frantically, showing Rapunzel the photo. She didn't have time for pleasantries. This was serious business!

Rapunzel blinked, surprised at Hanna's urgent tone. "N-no," she stammered apologetically. "I was out."

Then she read the note. "Oh! That's kind of sweet!"

Right?

"No, it's creepy!" Hanna corrected. In a much lower voice, almost a whisper, she added, "I think someone's watching me."

Though maybe Rapunzel was right. It was sorta sweet. Kinda? Maybe her admirer was just misunderstood?

"Watching you?" Rapunzel wasn't sure what Hanna meant.

"Stalking," Hanna said as though it were a dirty word. "I just woke up from a coma! I don't need this!"

"Stalking?" Rapunzel wasn't sure what that was, either.

"Coma?" She knew what that was, but she didn't remember Hanna being in one...

"For a whole week! It was touch and go for awhile. The doctors said it's a miracle I survived the fall," Hanna explained

She didn't question why Rapunzel didn't seem to remember this. Hanna figured she had amnesia. Wouldn't be the first time someone in this god forsaken town suffered from it.

"What? But you went to visit home last weekend!" Rapunzel remembered that!

"Fandom is my home now!" Hanna replied, adamant about that. "I would never go back to that...place. I'm done with that life!"

Rapunzel blinked. She seemed to be doing a lot of that today. "What? What happened?" And why hadn't Hanna said anything!?

"I...I don't want to talk about it," Hanna replied, her voice cracking as a single tear slid down her cheek.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Rapunzel rushed over to her roommate only to stop helplessly. Handkerchief, handkerchief... there had to be one around somewhere!

"It's okay. Not your fault," Hanna sniffed, grateful that her roommate was so concerned.

"But, I didn't even notice anything was wrong!" She felt like an awful roommate.

"Oh, Rapunzel, you did nothing wrong! You couldn't have known," Hanna assured. She had so many secrets. Even her closest friends, including her roommate, didn't know about them.

"But I should have. I mean, you've been so nice to me. So helpful. And I didn't even notice that you needed help."

"And you've been so kind to me when I needed it most," Hanna told her. "You have no idea how much that means to me."

With that said, she reached over, attempting a hug.

Hugs! Rapunzel liked hugs! She squeezed her roommate tightly. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"

"Just...stay safe, okay?" Hanna replied. "You never know what shady characters are out there."

"I will. I promise."

A few days ago she would have laughed at the idea of the island being dangerous, but she couldn't ignore how scared Hanna seemed to be about that note.
